I'm currently studying music at the University of York where I play bass trombone in the University Symphony Orchestra. In the Isle of Man I play in the Rushen Silver Band and have performed with the Manx Youth Orchestra and Isle of Man Symphony Orchestra. I have also been a member of the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland.
With Rushen Silver Band in 2015 and 2017 I performed at the Interceltic Festival in Lorient, Brittany. In 2015 when the Isle of Man was one of the featured nations, this involved playing to over 80,000 people during the Grand Parade - watched by millions more on national French TV.
In the Isle of Man I'm a member of the Ballagarey Singers and have sung in the Mannin Youth Choir.
On the stage I've played the roles of Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors (pictured), Corey Junior in Back to the 80s, Roger in Grease and Franz Klineman in Rock of Ages at Castle Rushen High School. At the Gaiety Theatre I've played Chef Louis in The Little Mermaid, Grumbly the Dwarf in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (pantomime) and have performed in Aladdin (pantomime), Thoroughly Modern Millie, Beauty and The Beast, Dick Whittington (pantomime) and The Wizard of Oz. At Ballakermeen Studio Theatre, I've played Father Christmas in Elf.
During the 2020 coronavirus lockdown I taught myself the guitar. I documented my progress on social media and via a podcast. Find out more.
